College Fair Slated for April 22 in Omaha
(Lincoln, Nebraska, April 13, 2010) – High school students – especially juniors and sophomores – are encouraged to begin their college search efforts by attending the Omaha Spring College Fair Thursday, April 22 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Burke High School, 12200 Burke Blvd.
This event, sponsored by EducationQuest Foundation and the Great Plains Association of College Admission Counselors (GPACAC), will feature representatives from Midwest colleges and universities, and will also include financial aid presentations.
EducationQuest and GPACAC are also sponsoring the Lincoln Spring College Fair Tuesday, April 20 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Lincoln Northeast High School, 2635 N. 63rd Street.
EducationQuest provides these tips to help students make the most of their college fair visit:
Before you attend, determine which colleges you want to visit (a list is available in the College Fair article at EducationQuest.org). Arrive early so you have time to visit your top colleges.
Prepare a list of questions for college representatives. Ask about the school's academic programs, admission application deadlines and scholarship opportunities.
Plan to complete information cards from colleges that interest you. This allows the colleges to send you more information and saves you from filling out forms.
