In 2007, EducationQuest Foundation was selected to sponsor the national KnowHow2GO campaign in Nebraska. Headquartered in Lincoln, EducationQuest is a nonprofit organization with a mission to improve access to higher education in Nebraska.
We fulfill our mission through free college planning services, need-based scholarship programs, college-access grants, and outreach services.
EducationQuest has locations in Lincoln, Kearney and Omaha, Nebraska.
Young people in all socio-economic groups have college aspirations. In fact, eight out of 10 expect to attain a bachelor's degree or higher, according to the U.S. Department of Education. But despite their aspirations, some students lack the guidance they need to prepare for postsecondary education.
In order to turn these students' college dreams into action-oriented goals, the American Council on Education, Lumina Foundation for Education and the Ad Council launched the KnowHow2GO campaign in January 2007.
EducationQuest launched the Nebraska campaign in June 2007 and has since developed materials and coordinated activities to promote the campaign across the state.
Since the launch, EducationQuest has:
- coordinated placement of free statewide radio and television public service announcements, newspaper ads and billboards
- distributed KnowHow2GO materials to schools statewide last fall
- developed an online KnowHow2GONebraska "guided tour" that links students to free college-planning resources
- held KnowHow2GO "pep rally" events at schools across the state that featured participation from Governor Heineman and Miss Nebraska Ashley Bauer
- held a KnowHow2GO event at Westfield/Gateway Mall in Lincoln as part of Westfield's partnership with the campaign
- coordinated a KnowHow2GO College Access Symposium April 3, 2008 for Nebraska high school counselors
