Ambassador Program
Want to help students KnowHow2GO to college?
Big dreams and good grades are not enough to get into college for many low-income or first-generation students. They need someone to help them along the way - to teach them the steps they need to take to make college a reality. Are you willing to be THAT person - a KnowHow2GONebraska Ambassador?
EducationQuest Foundation is looking for enthusiastic college students to volunteer their time as Ambassadors to help younger students "know how to go to college." The KnowHow2GO program is a national effort to help 8th - 10th graders learn the four steps needed to make college a reality. EducationQuest is proud to sponsor the effort in Nebraska.
As a KnowHow2GONebraska Ambassador, you will:
- receive training on the KnowHow2GONebraska initiative – and specialized training as needed for KnowHow2Go events
- help our partner organizations with college access and career exploration activities - as you build valuable leadership and communication skills
- make a difference in your community as you present KnowHow2GO information to middle and high school students, and represent the campaign at KnowHow2GO events
- participate in regular posts and/or blogs regarding college access and best practices for working with middle and high school students
- add community service activities to your resume, and the potential for professional references
To be eligible, you must:
- be committed to serve for the 2010-2011 academic year
- be committed to a minimum of 2-3 presentations/events per semester
- have a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher
- be a continuing college student for the fall semester of 2010
